Every blogger or website owner dreams of earning a top search engine ranking on Google for their sites. But like a lot of things in life, it looks quite a bit easier then it is. Have you ever thought about how many keywords you should assign to each page on your website, or how should you pick them? On Inc.com, an Inc. 500 CEO offers his advice on search engine optimization (SEO), and uses jewelry-related terms as an example.
It would be great if this blog had a top 10 Google result for “jewelry.” But the likelihood of that? A longshot at best. But by targeted relevant – and longer – terms such as “Chicago jewelry” or “Rolex watches in Chicago,” I can reach the more appropriate audience. Scoring big for “jewelry” would be nice, but that is a long ways away!
And have you ever heard of Google’s Wonder Wheel? Neither have I – until this article. The Wonder Wheel shows related search terms to the current searched query and allows you to explore other relevant search terms quickly and easily. I have yet to use it, but you better believe that I will!
